happy new year – ?!

28 January | 2009

hello hello! First posting of the new year. And the old year. In fact, my first blog post ever in the history of the world…

It’s now freezing and snowing here in New York, and all my scarves are in their busiest season. I still haven’t committed to wearing a hat regularly, but I’ve got boots and glittens now.

Just got back from the holidays. I was lucky to spend a week at home in North Carolina and a week with my dad in Nicaragua, where we did clinical work in several rural villages. Some pictures here.

Lots of music coming up this spring. The Yale Baroque Ensemble is building up our core rep, and the Red Light Ensemble is getting ready for some new music down in Chelsea pretty soon. Just joined Trio Eos at MoBiA for their beautiful concert in January, and still singing with Trinity Wall Street, St. Luke in the Fields and St. Mary’s at Times Square. A few other projects cooking on the stove, too…

I’ll continue to play for ballet and modern dance at NYU Tisch, and I’ll be working on a solo for the Second Avenue Dance Company showing in March. A violin piece of mine was just used for a performance choreographed by Earl Mosley at the Ailey School in January, and we’re hoping to collaborate more this spring.

Check out what’s coming up, and let me know if you’ll be stopping by! To get in touch, my email and other contact info is below.

Last — I want to give a shout-out to the wonderful & amazing Goliards from Rice, who once (eight years ago!) gave me the chance to live my dream of being a street musician in Scandinavia. Thanks for getting back in touch, guys. O Fortuna!
